A Perfect Bloom

There’s always room

Rose Reverie
Rose Reverie

For a perfect bloom

In our windows of acceptance

Who could argue

Its existence

Brightening anyone’s day

Without resistance

Effortlessly beautiful

Even with thorns

To remind us that

Even the devil has horns

A few will find fault in its glorious petals

The shading, perhaps a tear

A limp leaf

Or grazing spike

We can fully accept flowers with these flaws and dislikes

And plant them in gardens

Put them in vases

Display them in windows

Give for good causes

So why do some get trampled

In ignorant stampedes

Oblivious to their beauty

They leave them to bleed

Shedding their blooms, their beauty

In a catastrophic heap

Leaving their admirers

To whimper and weep.
